My left leg was crushed between the car and the bike--the knee against the gas tank and the ankle against the engine case (look at the last picture to see what happened to the left foot peg). The result was one fracture in the knee and two in the ankle. One in the ankle was a complete separation repaired with two titanium screws. I also had surgery on my thigh to remove an abcess caused by the entry of some foreign matter during my tumble and slide. I had a few minor lacerations and lots of soreness, bumps, and bruises, including a perfect image of one of the Savage's mirrors on my left upper arm--I think I broke off the mirror as I flew over the bars.
I was wearing a full-face helmet, Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket, jeans, and 20-eye steel-toe Doc Martens. The helmet did its job. The jacket performed better than I expected and would still be usable if the paramedics hadn't cut me out it. The jeans tore but not too badly because of all of the tumbling I did (over a couple of curbs, through a gas station, and into a chain-link fence). I can see by the marks on the boots that they saved my toes from considerable harm, although they were all bruised. Only the boots are still wearable.
I've had several inquiries on the manuals, so they will probably be gone by the time you read this.
